To the Point: Short Chorale Preludes for Organ
Ranging in styles from J.S. Bach to contemporary, these chorale preludes will please organists of varying tastes. Edward Eicker selected hymns from a variety of ecumenical hymnals and set each tune with judicious choices for registration and harmonic/melodic treatment. For example, HYFRYDOL has a running 16th note bass line, HERZLICH TUT MICH VERLANGEN uses an ornamented cantus firmus, and NICAEA is set as a brilliant toccatina. Eicker, from the Chicago area, is new to the Augsburg Fortress catalog.

Still, Still, Still
Ed Eicker has arranged this timeless and beloved song of the Nativity with obvious care and sensitivity. Set with accessible musical forces in mind, the SAB choir and flute with keyboard elegantly adorn the melody and evoke the beautiful imagery of Jesus' birth.
