Edward Eicker - Organist and Composer

About the Composer

Edward Eicker is a composer of choral and instrumental music for both small and large ensembles. He holds an M.A. in Music Composition (2002) and a B.M in Music Education and Organ Performance (1999) from Roosevelt University. His principal teachers have included David Schrader and Samuel Soria and composers Stacy Garrop and Patricia Morehead. Since 2000, Eicker has received various awards, commissions and publications.

In 2000, Eicker won first prize in the Virginia and Seymour La Rock composition contest for his a cappella choral work, "The Banishment of Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden." More recently, he was named a finalist in the 2007 Outside the Bachs choral composition contest. The finals took place in Fort Worth, TX on May 18, 2008.

Eicker's most recent commissions have come from World Library Publications, The CUBE Ensemble, Immaculate Conception Church in Chicago, and Central Christian Church in Austin, TX. His organ and choral works are published by several leading publishing companies including, GIA Publications, Inc., World Library Publications, and Augsburg Fortress.

Eicker currently serves as Organist and Director of Music Ministries at Immaculate Conception Church in Chicago, IL.
